Humanitarian aid trucks have encountered difficulties in distributing to the Palestinians.
President Joe Biden stated that the United States will start to air-drop humanitarian aid into Gaza in the near future. His administration will insist on Israel allowing more supply routes into the area.
This week, at least 100 Palestinians reportedly died in an incident involving an aid convoy. Israel said most of those were either trampled or run over by crowds mobbing the convoy. However, Palestinians claimed that Israeli forces fired on the civilian crowd.
President Biden said, “People are so desperate that innocent people got caught in a terrible war unable to feed their families, and you saw the response when they tried to get aid in. And we need to do more, and the United States will do more.”
He continued, “We’re going to insist that Israel facilitate more trucks and more routes to get more and more people the help they need. No excuses, because the truth is aid flowing to Gaza is nowhere nearly enough now — it’s nowhere nearly enough.”
